How to list your equipment and vehicles on Scouty

Listing your equipment, props and vehicles on our platform is a great way to reach more customers and generate extra income. Follow these simple steps to list your equipment and vehicles:

Listing Your Items

Once your account is set up, access your dashboard to manage your listings.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click the menu bar in the top right corner.
  3. Click on 'List on Scouty'.
  4. Select 'Filming equipment & props' or 'Vehicles' 
  5. Follow the steps to complete the upload process.

Tip: high-quality photos help attract more hirers.

Setting Terms and Conditions

Remember to specify any terms and conditions related to the rental of your equipment.

  1. Scroll through to the 'Additional terms' section.
  2. Add any specific rental terms, such as usage restrictions, deposit requirements, and late return fees.
  3. Ensure the terms are clear and concise.

Review and Publish

Review all the details you’ve entered to ensure accuracy.

  1. Click on the Review Listing button.
  2. Check all the information and make any necessary edits.
  3. Once you’re satisfied, click on the Publish button.

Manage Your Listings

You can manage and edit your listings from your dashboard at any time.

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Click on My Listings.
  3. Select the equipment you want to edit or update.
  4. Make the necessary changes and click Save.

Respond to Booking Requests

Stay responsive to inquiries and booking requests to boost your listings visibility and ensure a smooth rental process.

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Click on Bookings.
  3. Review the details of each request.
  4. Accept or decline the booking request. 
  5. Communicate with the hirer to arrange pickup or delivery.

Tip: ensure your equipment is clean and in good condition before handing over to the hirer.


Collect and Review Feedback

After the rental period, collect feedback and review the transaction.

  1. After the equipment is returned, inspect it for any damages.
  2. Return any deposits if applicable.
  3. Leave a review for the hirer based on your experience.
  4. Encourage the hirer to leave a review for you.
